Executive Summary
After more than two years of extensive community engagement and careful research, analysis, and planning, the Lake County 2050 General and Area Plan Update is being presented for Planning Commission and Board of Supervisors review and consideration. The July 13, 2026, Planning Commission meeting was intended to be a workshop style meeting to review the countywide and area plan elements, with the intent to review the Draft Environmental Impact Report (DEIR) and consideration of recommendations to the Board of Supervisors at the August 27, 2026, Planning Commission meeting.
At the August 13, 2026, Planning Commission meeting, the Commission reviewed and discussed portions of the General Plan but requested additional meetings. As a result of this request, a Special Meeting of the Planning Commission was scheduled for Friday, August 21, 2026, at 1:00 p.m.
At the August 21, 2026, Special Meeting, Community Development Director Mireya G. Turner will provide an update of the General Plan Update process and schedule.
